Lava Bai, RScP serves as the Director of Education for Youth Program as well as the Adult Education Program.  In her capacity for both departments, she is responsible to review and distribute the education curricula created by the Centers for Spiritual Living; select and coordinate Teacher/Facilitator and the schedule; serve as back-up to the Sunday School Teachers and produce the Teacher’s Retreat.  In recruiting teachers and facilitators, she looks for individuals with a passion for people that love learning and learning from a place of love so that education is fun, stimulating and memorable.  “Ms. Lava” worked as a Kindergarten teacher; has facilitated countless Teen as well as Adult workshops and seminars, and also serves as a teacher in the Ahiah Adult Educational Program.

Julietta Yanez worked with L.A. Unified School District as a Family Coordinator.  

She loves celebrating family and encouraging others to celebrate the special bond that comes from all forms of family.  Julie loves sharing family time with her own family, especially her little nieces and nephews.  Her expertise in planning quality family time and family events will be a great asset for our Ahiah Youth and Family Department.

Mr. Clark

Youth Teacher

Clark Long.  Is an Actor, Singer and Acting Teacher.  He attended Purdue University where he majored in Theater Arts.  He began teaching at Holy Cross School, in Indianapolis, Indiana, with 6-8th graders covering English, History, and Science. After moving to Los Angeles, Clark taught and tutored at a special program called School On Wheels - a shelter for Battered Women.  In between acting jobs, he later worked part time for a Recreation Center in Beverly Hills, where he was Director of Drama and Productions.

Clark has been gracing AHIAH’s congregation, microphones and classrooms for over 20 years.  He loves teaching when time permits. With the AHIAH Youth Ministry, Clark specializes in showcasing the AHIAH Youth in seasonal presentations and productions.  “Mr. Clark”  teaches Acting Techniques for Transformation on Saturday mornings at Ahiah.  He also works with the children to present seasonal plays and skits for Ahiah.

Ms. Linda

Youth Teacher

Linda Hunt has almost 40 combined years of professional teaching experience with L.A. Unified, El Monte, and Pasadena Unified School Districts.  She taught K-12, all grades and during Summer School season, she taught Art and Dance.  She is a native of Pasadena, and grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, attending schools in Alhambra and then graduating from Cal State L.A. with a major in French and a minor in music.  She is an amazing artist and photographer – a true and natural Creative. She paints art on furniture, is currently writing a book of short stories, inspired by her photography.  Linda is the wife of Ahiah Board Member, Milton Hunt.  As a practicing Buddhist, “Ms. Linda” brings her many talents to the Ahiah Classroom, inspiring children to expand their creative expression beyond their expectations.

Ms. Melinda

Youth Teacher

Melinda Le Menefee hails from New Orleans, Louisiana and attended San Diego State University.  She is a Staff Relations Manager with L.A. Unified School District.  Melinda has the intriguing ability to morph effortlessly from glamourous to glamping as she loves family and family fun.  Her soft-spoken and Zen-esque demeanor would leave most speechless to learn that she is very comfortable in the outdoor, high-adventure lane.  Melinda loves spending weekends on family adventures with her husband, Ahiah’s drummer Brian and their daughter, Aja.  “Ms. Melinda” brings her spirit of adventure as well as her serene calm to the classroom for the student’s lessons. 

Jazzmine Jackson has attended Agape International Spiritual Center since she was two years old. Throughout her childhood, she participated in each level of their Youth Ministry including the children’s church, teen church, and Sanctuary Services. Jazzmine grew up participating in Sacred Service Saturday events, Teen Summer Camps; the Children’s Choir and Teen Ensemble.  She actively performed in every choir in addition to being the musical inspiration during a few services throughout the years. At 17, she was the youngest member of the Agape International Choir.  Jazzmine Jackson represents the third generation of her family’s spiritual journey in New Thought teachings.  She has fond memories of visiting Ahiah with her mother and grandmother at our original home at 277 N. El Molino.  Now, as an adult parent of a beautiful little girl, she is excited to be participating as the Teen Group Facilitator at Ahiah.  Jazzmine feels honored to be a part of helping young people come into their own and learn about implementing spiritual practices and how to trust God in their everyday lives and decisions.
